the cat empire!!! since i was super-duper-happy that this awesome band from melbourne was planning to be in brisbane in march i already ordered tickets for their concert in brissie back in germany :) i was sooo much looking forward to it... and felix & co. did a great show!!!
though the most amazing thing was how i sold my 2nd ticket... i had bought 2 tickets because i thought i would find company very easily (the band is really famous here - many people go to their concerts regularly - & after 6 weeks i should have met a few people - that´s what i thought). well, both thoughts were not too far from reality BUT somehow everyone seemed to have something else on his/her list for thursday night or had a cold or no money or... whatever. it was fine going to the concert by myself but i didn´t wanna waist the money for the 2nd ticket! so in the end, on wednesday night, i put an offer for the ticket on an internetforum which is frequently used by many aussies for several purposes (gumtree for the insiders). and on thursday i was wondering why nobody called me... until the afternoon - finally!!! the last option would have been selling the ticket at the venue to someone but i wasn´t sure if that worked. so i was glad when i got the first call. and shortly after even a second. when i met the girl (she had called me first - it´s always the girls who are faster, don´t you reckon ;)) to hand over the ticket i was asked to come over to her place before the concert & have some drinks with her & her friends. this is something that can only happen when you are by yourself. and in australia. and we had so much fun! plus at the concert we met the other guy who had called later for the ticket.
so what is the moral of the story? relax, take it easy and everything´s gonna be fine and fun :)
